Over 80 percent of Brits planning their next luxury holiday

Written by  May 08, 2020

The travel industry might well have been decimated by the COVID-19 pandemic but not all sections of the business have felt the pinch quite as much. Over 80 percent of Brits are already planning their next holiday for 2021, according to a survey by the Overseas Leisure Group.

In a survey by Overseas Leisure Group, a luxury travel operator in 34 countries across the globe, the vast majority of people questioned are already planning their next break for next year. 500 British travel enthusiasts were asked a series of questions about the future holiday plans, between the 24th and 28th of April, and there were some interesting results. When asked if travel is just on pause or changed forever a massive 87 percent stated that it is just on pause for now. In fact, just over 41 percent said that they planned on travelling this summer.

And the first destination for these high-end travellers is Europe. Out of the 500 people asked almost 63 percent said that Europe would be the first port of call, followed by Africa with 9.8 percent. And the potential safety issues and COVID-19 regulations when flying in the near future didn’t seem to raise too much concern with the luxury British traveller, as almost 85 percent stated that they would fly to reach their holiday destination, with the most popular vacation being a “trendy beach resort.”
