Looking for a winter break in Dubrovnik to soak up the sights and sounds of the historic old City before the summer crowds arrive? Then you’ll probably be wanting to catch a bite to eat in a restaurant. But finding an eatery that’s actually open in the winter months, especially in January can be tricky in Dubrovnik.

The vast majority of the city’s restaurants have closed their doors for the winter holidays, however there are a select few still open and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board have published a guide to the restaurants, pizzerias and fast food eateries that are open for January 2019. If you are after a fast snack in a pizzeria or an elegant evening meal of traditional Dalmatian cuisine you’ll find what you are looking for in the guide. After the busy Christmas and New Year period in Dubrovnik the city is going into its winter hibernation. But it is the perfect time of the year to visit and have time and space to explore and discover the wonders of Dubrovnik at your own pace.

There are a select number of hotels open and they are giving great deals in January, the only problem is finding a flights. This year Dubrovnik Airport is connected to seven international airports, from London to Warsaw, and with ticket prices reasonable outside of the peak season all you need to do is plan the best route and best time. Of course you aren’t going to laze on the beach or swim in the Adriatic but the historic Old City offers enough for a short break and combine it with a walk around the city walls or a hike in the Konavle countryside and you are onto a winner.
