Dubrovnik beaches pass sea water quality test after retesting

According to the program for determining the quality of the sea water on the beaches of Dubrovnik-Neretva County for 2020, the Public Health Institute of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County conducted the seventh regular sea survey on 120 beaches in the period from August 11 to August 21, 2020.

The sea on 112 beaches complied with the requirements of the regulation on the quality of bathing sea. During the seventh examination. However, eight beaches were discovered to be polluted and didn’t pass the quality control standards, these were the beaches: Hotel Park and the City Beach in Korčula, Lapad Bay, Šulić, Danče, Hotel Bellevue, Hotel Libertas Rixos and Hotel Vis 2 in Dubrovnik. Additional sea water samples were taken in accordance with the regulation. The new test results met all the requirements, indicating a cessation of all pollution.

Of the other 112 beaches, the sea water on 111 beaches was rated as a sea of excellent quality, whilst the sea water on Sreser beach on the Pelješac peninsula was rated as good.
