Coronavirus Dubrovnik – no new cases in Dubrovnik as tourist season doesn't effect numbers

By  Aug 11, 2020

In the last 24 hours, no new cases of Covid-19 infection have been recorded in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

As of today, one person has been cured. This is an older male person with a residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A total of 6,923 samples have been analysed since the beginning of the pandemic.

There is currently only one person hospitalised in the Dubrovnik General Hospital positive for Covid-19.

A total of 256 people are in self-isolation, and no violations of the measure have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Since the very first case of Covid-19 in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, back on the 18th of March when an employee of the Dubrovnik Airport unfortunately became the first patient, there have been 195 cases in total. And from that number a total of 176 people have made a full recovery and unfortunately 8 have passed away. There are currently 11 active cases across the whole county.

Dubrovnik has seen the most number of Covid-19 cases with 78, followed by Ploče with 34, Konavle with 27, Župa with 22 and Metković with 7.

Since the beginning of July, when the main tourist season started in Dubrovnik, until today the 11th of August, there have been 70 new cases of Covid-19. In other words, less than 2 new cases of infection a day. And when you bear in mind that in July alone around 133,000 tourists arrived in the county, or more people than actually live in the county, less figures have more perspective.
