The official state jet has been grounded. On June 13, there was a breakdown on a flight that was supposed to transport a patient from Dubrovnik to Zagreb for emergency medical reasons. But when the official government jet touched down at Dubrovnik Airport, oil was spotted leaking from the right engine, reports Nova TV. None of the crew members, nor the passengers were endangered on that occasion.
The plane is currently grounded in Dubrovnik, where the fault is being rectified. President Zoran Milanovic, who was scheduled to travel on an official visit to Moscow on the government plane has cancelled his trip. It is reported that the malfunction cannot be repaired in time for the planned trip, and there are no commercial flights to Russia due to the coronavirus epidemic.
"An unusually large loss of engine oil was noticed from the right engine of the aircraft, and according to the instructions of the engine manufacturer, a series of tests were performed to determine the most precise position of the engine failure. This failure is common in jet aircraft. Neither the crew members nor passengers were in danger. The arrival of a special team of mechanics to repair the defect on the aircraft is expected in Dubrovnik today. Work on the aircraft should be completed on June 24, 2020, if there is no need for further work,” commented a state spokesman.
