Dubrovnik will have a new flight connection for this summer, direct flights between the Slovenia capital and the pearl of the Adriatic. On Wednesday, the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, announced on a show on Radio Dubrovnik, that special charter flights would connect Dubrovnik with the Slovenian metropolis, Ljubljana, twice a week.

“We are currently arranging charter flights between Ljubljana and Dubrovnik with a Slovenian agency, which should start by the end of June at the latest. We have very good relations with Ljubljana, especially with Mayor Zoran Janković, and we have no doubt that there will be a response, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Therefore, we will launch a promotional campaign on the Slovenian market,” announced Franković.

The Mayor also pointed out that in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic and the troubled economic situation that the City of Dubrovnik is still financially stable.

“Considering that we predicted that this year the budget will be at a loss of about 60 million Kuna, we opened an overdraft with our business bank for that amount. We calculated that we would enter into that overdraft on the 1st of May, but today we are still in a slight plus,” concluded Franković.
