At the regular daily press conference of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the County it was announced that there are no new cases of coronavirus in the Dubrovnik – Neretva County and that the number of people infected remains at 64.
A total of 549 tests have been carried out so far, with the results from 27 further tests expected. The good news is that there have been no records of breaking of the self-isolation measures and of all the businesses in the region not one has been reported for breaking the stringent lockdown regulations.
The Director of Dubrovnik General Hospital, Marijo Bekic, reported that 14 people are hospitalized, eight in the Dubrovnik General Hospital and six in the Student Centre. There is one patient in the intensive care unit. According to Bekic none of the patients have life threatening symptoms.
The head of the Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Department, Ivan Pavlicevic, reported 680 field checks of people in self-isolation. “We had two reports of people gathering for a party. One was related to the party on an island and has proved to be untrue. This restaurant has been repeatedly controlled and no violations have been identified. The second case is related to a press query and is due to the Dubrovnik hotel, which is closed. It would appear that the night porter was a little bored, so he sent photos from previous parties on social media. The consequence is a penalty for the porter for wilfully spreading fake news,” added Pavlicevic.
