Work on the unique attraction, wind organ overlooking Rogotin has already begun, and the construction of a concrete structure is underway. This will be followed by interventions on a part of the hill from the direction of Ploce and the Neretva River, and a total of 21 wind tunnels will be installed.
The wind organ investment is worth slightly more than 3 million kuna and is only one of nine planned infrastructure activities undertaken as part of the project "Promoting the Sustainable Development of the Natural Heritage of the Neretva Valley", sponsored by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, with partners DUNEA Regional Agency, City Ploce, the City of Metkovic and the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Parts of Nature of Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
The wind organ is a part of the edu - eco complex on Trovro Hill, and include paving the path with stone slabs of stone from the site, setting benches made of natural materials, stone and wood in accordance with the local environment, setting up an info map, constructing a stone drywall plateau, building an observatory with panoramic binoculars and the construction of an edu - eco garden with horticultural amenities.
The project also includes the arrangement of a visitor center and a mountain lodge in Bacina, an exhibition space - the installation of a museological concept for the "first room" of the Museum of Natural History in Metkovic, biodiversity observatories on Bacina lakes, thematic trails on Bacina lakes - setting up information boards, hiking trails through the significant landscape of Predolac-Sibenica, an edu - eco garden within the Elementary school of fra Ante Gnjec in Stasevica, an edu - eco children's playground in Otric-Seoci, and the procurement and installation of equipment and technical protection systems in Metkovic.
The project is implemented under the Competitiveness and Cohesion Operational Program 2014-2020 and is funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds. The total value of the project is 14,356,064.90 kuna, the eligible costs are 14,048,072.02 kuna, of which 10,536,054.01 kuna is European Union support. The partners are co-financing the project in the amount of 3,512,018.01 kuna and the duration is planned from March 1st, 2016 to November 1st, 2020.
