Earthquake rumbles through Albania with a shaky feel in Dubrovnik

By  Jan 29, 2020

Last night at 9.15 pm, Albania was hit by earthquake of 5.1 magnitude. The epicenter was in the Adriatic Sea, around 16 km from the Albanian town of Durrës.

The earthquake was slightly felt in Dubrovnik and it also affected Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, and of course, Albania.

According to the New York Times, the latest earthquake caused people in the capital of Tirana to pour out of their apartments. Preliminary reports said there were no damage or injuries. The fear comes from the terrible 6.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the area on the November 26th, killing 51 people and leaving 15 thousand homeless.
