Earthquake rocks Dubrovnik on the first day of 2020

By  Jan 01, 2020

Dubrovnik entered 2020 as it unfortunately ended the last decade, with the tremors of an earthquake. At around 11:00 am this morning the ground shook in Dubrovnik as an earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit in Nevesinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, around 65 kilometres north of Dubrovnik.

The epicentre of the latest quake was five kilometres from Nevesinje, and it is the latest of tremors to hit the wider region after the terrible quake that rocked Albania at the end of November this year.

Albania has also experienced a number of minor tremors over the past 24 hours, with the most recent just before 6.00 pm with a magnitude of 4.5.
