November was certainly an impressive month for Dubrovnik with a passenger increase of 114 percent compared to the same month from 2018.
Whilst the tourist season is slowly extending in Dubrovnik the real end of the season is the last week of October as the vast majority of flights stop. Indeed, October was a great month for the airport with almost 300,000 passengers passing through the southernmost airport in Croatia, an increase of almost 23 percent over the same month from last month.
In November the airport handled 56,924 passengers, an increase of 113.9 percent over November last year. And although the figures might seem impressive there is a reason why the numbers are higher than normal. According to a report on EX-YU Aviation, Freebird Airlines, from Turkey, have been contract to operate two flights a week to Germany.
So far this year Dubrovnik Airport has seen an incredible 2.86 million passengers, a 13.7 percent increase over last year, and will by the end of the year come close to hitting the 3 million mark for the first time ever. Unsurprisingly the busiest month for the airport was August when 524,000 passed through the doors.
