The Representation of the Croatian National Tourist Board in Italy organized a business workshop in Rome on Thursday, November 14th, for representatives of Italian tourist agencies and representatives of hotels and agencies in Croatia. The opening speech was made by the Director of the Representation of the Croatian National Tourist Board to Italy, Viviana Vukelic, followed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Italy, Jasen Mesic, and Ivana Jelinic, President of the Association of Italian Travel Agencies FIAVET.
The workshop was attended by 60 Italian travel agents and 20 Croatian representatives of hotels, agencies and tourist boards as well as the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
The Italians have shown great interest for the Croatian market, especially for Dubrovnik because of direct flights throughout the year. The Vueling airline connects Rome and Dubrovnik twice a week during the winter, while in the season Croatia Airlines flies direct Rome – Dubrovnik flights three times a week, while Easy Jet and Vueling fly four times a week.
In 2019, 38 141 Italian tourists visited Dubrovnik, and they realized 115 784 overnight stays, which is the same as last year. The presentation of Dubrovnik and the tourist offer in Rome will certainly contribute to the increase of tourist visits from the Italian market.
