SUCCESSFUL ACTION: 610 seedlings planted in 139 locations in Dubrovnik

The City of Dubrovnik, in collaboration with the Administrative Department for Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, as well as for Utilities and Local Self-Government, became involved in the citizens' initiative Collective Tree Planting Days, which took place from October 25th to October 27th. So far, the result of this action is 610 planted seedlings in 139 locations in the City of Dubrovnik.

In agreement with the Coordinator for the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva Romana Tomic and the company Vrtlar Dubrovnik d.o.o. planting sites for the species of trees to be planted have been agreed. Also, an arrangement of seedling distribution for citizens has been agreed to be funded by the City of Dubrovnik.

178 seedlings were distributed to citizens at locations in Mokosica, Gruz, Lapad and Lazareti. Due to great interest, another action was organized and 200 more seedlings were distributed.

In addition to the City of Dubrovnik, the action was joined by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Elite travel d.o.o., Sun gardens Resort, Diocese of Dubrovnik, Libertas TV, Association DESA - Dubrovnik, Hedera Estate d.o., Lions club Sv. Vlaho, Vetma Architectural Studio, Dominato property management, Boutique Villa Root, Urban & Veggie Restaurant, Grand Hotel Park, Pemo Ltd., Apropo Marketing Ltd., We do yoga studio Dubrovnik, Ladi Cosic (private person), Maro Kockovic (private person), Jelena Roko (private person), Romana Tomic (private person), NP Mljet, Croatian Forests - Forestry Dubrovnik, EKo taxi doo and MSC Cruise Ltd.

The employees of Vrtlar Dubrovnik d.o.o, along with the volunteers, planted trees at numerous locations.

The City of Dubrovnik recognized the importance of this action, which aimed to encourage citizens, associations, businesses and institutions to plant as many trees as possible on private and public areas throughout Croatia in order to contribute to the greening of urban areas and highlight the importance and many benefits of urban greenery.
