Sea at Mlini beach contaminated with faeces

By  Sep 18, 2019

The Dubrovnik-Neretva County issued a statement warning the public that fecal pollution had occurred at Mlini beach in Zupa Dubrovacka.

According to the information provided by the Institute of Public Health of the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva, during the ninth sea quality survey according to the Program for the determination of sea quality, it was determined that the results of the sea analysis for swimming at Mlini beach in Zupa dubrovacka, sampled on September 17th, 2019, exceed the values for the microbiological parameter of Escherichia coli.

The sampling will have to be repeated until the pollution has ceased, the County says, and the pollution has been notified to the Environmental Inspectorate and other competent inspections. Considering that sea samples at Mlini beach in Zupa dubrovačka, due to pollution of fecal origin, do not meet the requirements of the Regulation, it is not recommended to swim until further notice.
