A Libertas public bus was stolen early this morning and taken for a destructive joyride around the Sub City shopping centre in Zupa. The public bus was parked in Srebreno when it was broken into at around 2.30am this morning and driven at high speeds crashing into cars, traffic signs and traffic lights before being crashed into a wall and flower bed destroying them completely.
Police have reported that they are looking for three young men in connection with the crime, who fled the scene. The police investigation is ongoing.
The spokesperson for the Dubrovnik Libertas bus company, Niksa Grljevic, commented that “Unknown perpetrators caused a minimum of 20,000 Kuna damage to the stolen bus last night. The front of the bus is completely damaged, from the bumper, grille, windshield to the screen at the top of the bus. Our team is in the field and after their assessment we will know the exact amount of damage. As for the perpetrators, we suspect three young people, and we will know more details after the police report - concluded Grljevic.
