Written by  Jul 10, 2019

The president of Croatia Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic arrived in Dubrovnik to be a part of the Opening Ceremony of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. During her visit, Grabar Kitarovic also decided to visit the House of Marin Drzic, the the greatest Croatian playwright of all time, one of the most eminent Croatian writers in history, as well as one of the key authors of the European Renaissance comedy.

The House of Marin Drzic, institution in culture of the City of Dubrovnik, was founded in 1989 and has been dedicated to the life and work of this great Croatian playwright. It is located adjacent to the Domino Church in a building erected after the earthquake in 1667, partly on the site of the destroyed house and previous All Saints Church, in which Drzic was a rector in accordance to family law.

The House, as said by the organizers of this event, presents the national reference center for providing all the information about life and work of Marin Držic, and the visit of the president accompanied by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Perfect, Nikola Dobroslavic, the Mayor of Dubrovnik Mato Frankovic and parliamentary representative Sanja Putica, shows the continuation of the previously established cooperation on 'branding' and available models for the development of identity and the brand of the Republic of Croatia.

The president wasn’t available for statements after the tour.
