Sea in Srebreno not good for swimming

By  Jun 27, 2019

The Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the Department of Communal Affairs and Environmental Protection, according to the Bathing Water Regulation, warns the public that on the Srebreno beach in Zupa dubrovacka there was a short-term contamination of the sea with fecal waters.

According to the information provided by the Public Health Institute of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County on 27th of June 2019, during the third quality survey of the sea, it was found that the results from the Srebreno beach exceed the limit values for the microbiological parameter of Escherichia coli.

Sampling will be repeated until the contamination has ceased. Pollution has been notified to the Environmental Inspectorate and other competent inspectors.

Since sea samples on the Srebreno beach in Zupa dubrovačka, due to contamination of faecal origin do not meet the requirements of the Regulation, it is not recommended to swim there until further notice.
