Written by  Apr 25, 2019

A delegation from the Ministry of the Interior, which included Police Officer of Dubrovnik Police Station Valentina Subotic, participated in the international exchange course "Capacity building in the area of Legislation Implementation". The course lasted from March 20th to April 3rd, and was held in Guangzhou, organized by the Guangdong Police College, on the basis of a call from the Ministry of Public Security of China.

China is participating in the implementation of the "Safe Tourism Season" project from last year. This project was launched in Croatia back in in 2006 as a co-operation of the Croatian police with the police of other European countries. As part of the project, foreign police officers work in common patrols with their Croatian colleagues and achieve direct contact with the citizens of their countries and help in better communication between the Croatian police and foreign nationals and vice versa. Throughout many years of implementation, a total of 20 foreign police organizations from 18 countries have been involved.

During the last tourist season, police officer Valentina Subotic served on a joint patrol with his Chinese colleague who stayed in Dubrovnik for two weeks in July last year. We had the chance to join them and if you are interested in details click here: Interview - On Patrol With Lili Long and Chuande Zhang

When it comes to the course, it was organized in such a way that both Chinese police and legal experts exchanged experience and knowledge and examples of good practice of both sides, and members of the Croatian delegation had the opportunity to visit and become acquainted with the functioning of all the police organizing units that use high technology in their work, given that China is the second economic power of the world.
