LEARN ABOUT ZERO WASTE LIVING: A Plastic Ocean to be projected in the youth center

By  Feb 21, 2019

Informadur - Youth Information Center Dubrovnik and Desa Association are organizing a projection of the movie ''A Plastic Ocean'', to open the eyes about zero waste living. The projection will take place on Thursday, February 28th at the premises of the center, at the address Ante Starcevica 22, at 6 pm.

The lecture and discussion after the film will be led by Romana Tomic from the Desa Association and Anna Krause, who is on the professional practice at Informadur.

A PLASTIC OCEAN begins when journalist Craig Leeson, searching for the elusive blue whale, discovers plastic waste in what should be pristine ocean. In this adventure documentary, Craig teams up with free diver Tanya Streeter and an international team of scientists and researchers, and they travel to twenty locations around the world over the next four years to explore the fragile state of our oceans, uncover alarming truths about plastic pollution, and reveal working solutions that can be put into immediate effect.

This movie helped and contributed to the global debate, influenced legislation, triggered industrial innovations, forced traders to reconsider their business, and consumers to make more intelligent purchasing decisions.

Recorded in more than 70 countries and four continents, the film is hosted by numerous awards at international film festivals, including the German Environmental Film Prize, whose previous winner was Al Gore.

Association La Révolution Albatros from France brought the movie to Dubrovnik, or more precisely to the Desa Association.
