River sources Ombla and Palate have been contaminated due to recent heavy rain, so the tap water in Dubrovnik should be avoided. 

Bottled water is the best choice, but you can also let it sediment and then boil the clear part of it.

The Public Health Institute carries out monitoring of the public water supply in the entire Dubrovnik-Neretva County and will let everybody know when water is safe for consumption again.
