The gale force northerly wind has not only brought temperatures well below zero in Dubrovnik but has also caused a serious accident this afternoon. A large rock rolled down the side of the Srđ Mountain overlooking Dubrovnik, fell onto the main coastal road and crashed right into a car.
According to information from the scene the accident happened at around 1.00pm this afternoon and the large boulder crashed into a Renault car with Dubrovnik number plates. The driver has been taken to the Dubrovnik General Hospital but the severities of his injuries are still unknown.
It would appear that the stone, which has been moved to the other side of the crash barrier, severely damaged the car and the police are still on the scene.
