Dubrovnik, Croatia's tourist pearl, has been chosen as the culture capital for 2019 by many readers and users of the popular American tourist platform AFAR. This recognition is placed in the destination category, and Dubrovnik has collected the highest number of votes from American travel enthusiasts.

-As one of the most desirable destinations in Europe, Dubrovnik has won numerous American tourists with a combination of history, culture, natural beauty, gastronomy and a mild Mediterranean climate - said the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Representative Office in New York, Ina Rodin, announcing that this acknowledgment of AFAR further confirms the popularity of our country on the US market but also the fact that promotional activities and numerous projects have contributed significantly to the popularity and visibility of Croatian destinations.
It’s important to add that in Croatia from January to the end of November this year, about 580,000 arrivals and 1.6 million overnight stays came from the US market, which compared to the same period last year was 23 percent increase in arrivals and 18 percent in overnight stays. The list of the most popular Croatian destinations that American tourists prefer is led by Dubrovnik, with more than 140,000 arrivals and about 410,000 overnight stays by the American tourists.
