The works on the Dubrovnik Airport to reduce the number of flights by Croatia Airlines

By  Nov 06, 2018

Dubrovnik Airport and Croatia Airlines have issued a joint press release regarding a reduced flight schedule in the upcoming period.

Works on the uphill and downhill course of the Dubrovnik Airport, making it currently the largest construction site in the Republic of Croatia, began and will last until March 15th, 2019, when Dubrovnik Airport should be fully ready for a new tourist season and even better passenger acceptance, as well as an even better air link between Dubrovnik and Zagreb, on which the local population depends.

These works will require constant adjustments and will directly affect the limitations that will have to be introduced to the flight queue. Aware of the needs of passengers at the Dubrovnik Airport, these works were limited to the minimum necessary period - from 8th of November to 9th of December this year, in which certain types of aircraft will not be able to be in traffic during the night hours.

Keeping up with the protocol agreed with Dubrovnik Airport, and in the desire to transport as many passengers as possible, Croatia Airlines as a Croatian national airline throughout this period will ensure the daily connectivity of Zagreb and Dubrovnik, by implementing a reduced flight schedule. Consequently, and having in mind realistic flight limitations and always guiding with the principle of passenger safety, the reduced flight schedule will change day by day depending on the operating conditions as well as the stage of work.

It should be noted that Croatia Airlines, instead of canceling flights, will carry out special preparations with the crew during that period to make the flight operations completely safe and despite all the restrictions caused by the works on the Dubrovnik Airport.

Dubrovnik Airport and Croatia Airlines will work hard to make these works affect passengers as little as possible and will inform them, together with maximum engagement of all capacities, about all necessary changes. For all passengers who purchased tickets for the evening flights at a time when there were no restrictions on the above mentioned works were yet unknown, Croatia Airlines will offer the flights in alternative times and seek an acceptable solution and justify their expectations.

For all necessary information, passengers can contact Croatia Airlines Contact Center on 072 - 500 505 and (01) 66 76 555 as well as the company's offices in Dubrovnik (020) 773 232, e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. Dubrovnik Airport and Croatia Airlines are apologizing to all users of services on possible inconveniences, and thank them for their patience and understanding due to the great complexity of the project for the reconstruction of the maneuvering areas of the Dubrovnik Airport.
