Swimming in Molunat not recommended

By  Aug 17, 2018

Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Department of Communal Affairs and Environmental Protection, in accordance with the Bathing Water Regulation, warns the public that there has been a short-term pollution of the sea near the Monika auto camp in Molunat.

Three days ago the Department of Public Health of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County carried out a sampling of the sea at the beach near the Monika auto camp in Molunat.

Laboratory analysis found that results of the sea analysis exceeded the limit values for the microbiological parameter of Escherichia coli. In accordance with the Water Quality Regulatio, sampling shall be repeated until the contamination has ceased. Pollution has been notified to the Environmental Inspectorate and other competent inspectors.

Since sea samples at the beach near the Monika auto camp in Molunat do not comply with the requirements of the Regulation due to contamination of faecal origin, it is not recommended to swim there until further notice.
