Dubrovnik was alive to the sounds of runners today as the flagship event of the Du Motion Runners’ Day, the Dubrovnik Half Marathon, started at 9.30 in the centre of the Old City of Dubrovnik. The Dubrovnik Half Marathon was once again an international race with runners from all over the world. A little before 11.00 am the runners started to make their way across the finishing line on the Stradun.
This year’s men’s gold medallist was Janez Maroević from Dubrovnik with a time of 1 hour – 18 minutes and 57 seconds. He was followed by Mladen Stevanović from Bosina and Herzegovina and in bronze position was Vinko Sliško from Dubrovnik.
In the women’s competition the gold medal winner was Josefin Sjölind-Kohtamäki from Finland with a time of 1 hour – 30 minutes and 3 seconds - followed by Amela Trožić from Bosnia and Herzegovina and in bronze was Deborah Walters from the UK.
