Dubrovnik is heading for the top of the highest mountain in Africa. Sixteen members of a Croatian expedition from Dubrovnik left the city this morning on their way to Kilimanjaro. After months of preparation these keen recreational climbers will soon face the 4,900 metres on Kilimanjaro.
One of the biggest obstacles they expect to face is altitude sickness as well as overall condition, but with the assistance of the leader of the expedition and an experienced climber, Lazar Badanjac, the group has already had the opportunity to climb some of the highest peaks in the region. This experience, along with their daily fitness regime, should put them in great steed for this African challenge.
We wish this group all the best with their Kilimanjaro adventure.
