Today, the 13th of July, is the hottest day in July in Dubrovnik on record. The mini heat wave that has rolled over the region in the past ten days came to a peak today when temperatures were measured at 37.7 degrees Celsius or 99 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest recorded temperature in Dubrovnik in July until today was 36.3 degrees.
According to the National Hydro meteorological Institute for the Dubrovnik-Neretva County on there is a great danger of the thermal wave tomorrow, basically meaning that tomorrow could see a new heat record for Dubrovnik. Whilst a moderate heat wave is forecast for the 15th of July.
Experts have been informing people to stay out of the sun from midday to 4.00pm and to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. The Adriatic Sea is also not offering much relief from the heat as the sea temperature today was 26.4 degrees.
