Where did everyone go? Where did everyone go? Mark Thomas

Cavtat in the winter – a ghost town

Written by  Mark Thomas Mar 10, 2017

The seasonality of Dubrovnik's tourism business has traditionally been an unsolvable problem, but of course it isn’t only the Pearl of the Adriatic that has a problem.

The picturesque seaside location of Cavtat, around 30 minutes from Dubrovnik, is a magnet for tourists in the summer months.

The promenade is a vibrant meeting place, the numerous cafes and restaurants spill out onto the streets and music and laughter fills the air. Yachts and luxury cruisers from all over the world dock in the harbour and excursions boats crowd into the bay. However the winter period is a quite different story.
