The long-awaited transformation of Kupari, just south of Dubrovnik, is now in full swing. A reader captured video footage of demolition work currently reshaping the former military resort, as four hotels are being torn down to make way for a brand-new Four Seasons luxury complex.

Since May, heavy machinery has been steadily dismantling the once-iconic Kupari skyline. Of the original resort, only the protected Grand Hotel will remain standing, preserved as part of the site’s heritage.

The demolition marks a dramatic new chapter for Kupari, abandoned for decades after the Homeland War. With work progressing at pace, the coastline’s silhouette is already changing — and will transform even further once the sleek new Four Seasons development rises in its place.
