Dubrovnik Welcomes India's New Ambassador for UNESCO Celebration and Strengthened Cooperation

The Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, received the new Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Arun Goel, on his inaugural visit. Ambassador Goel is in Dubrovnik for the central celebration of the Year of UNESCO World Heritage and, on this occasion, announced the continuation of the excellent cooperation between the Embassy of India and the City of Dubrovnik.

He expressed interest in tourism figures for Dubrovnik, and Mayor Franković informed him about all the activities the city is undertaking during the winter season to achieve tourist dispersion and ease the peak season pressure. The Head of the Mayor’s Office, Ivana Brnin, was also present at the reception.

Arun Goel assumed his duties as the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia on October 3, 2024, and this marks his first official visit to a city in Croatia outside of Zagreb.
