Today, around 1:30 PM, grass caught fire across from the turnoff for the Bosanka settlement, as reported by drivers on social media. The fire along the edge of the highway was fortunately quickly contained, but it once again highlights the need for caution during hot weather when the ground is dry. One cigarette butt is enough to cause a disaster.
We need to be even more careful if we remember that at the end of June, a fire broke out near this place and at one point approached the houses in Bosanka, but it was quickly brought under control by the intervention of two firefighting planes.
The Dubrovnik Fire Department confirmed that at 1:23 PM, they received a report of a fire involving grass and low vegetation below the highway at the turnoff for Bosanka. Two vehicles with six firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The fire was localized at 1:32 PM and completely extinguished by 1:50 PM.
