Written by  Mar 26, 2024

After the afforestation of Žarkovica, employees of the company Vrtlar Dubrovnik Ltd. carried out the first phase of planting seasonal flowers on public green areas in the wider Dubrovnik city area.

On the green areas near the Health Centre, in Pile, Iza Grada, in the park in Pile, the park near the Atlant centre, at the Solska baza, in the park Luja Šoletića, and on the Šetalište kralja Zvonimira, about 4000 carnation (Dianthus) and anemone seedlings were planted.

In some locations (Lapad, Pile), tulips have started to bloom. Namely, at the beginning of the year, about 4500 tulip bulbs were planted in various locations around the city. Additionally, 15 new chestnut and mulberry trees were planted.

The second phase of planting seasonal flowers, planned for mid-April, will cover other locations such as the park below the Revelin fortress, the Park of the city of Bad Homburg, the park in Žrtava s Dakse Street, the loop at Ilijina glavica, green and park areas in Mokošica, in Zaton, and others. It will involve planting 6500 pieces of large begonias, water lilies, pansies, and other types of flowers and ornamental plants.

Furthermore, by the end of April, the reconstruction of certain green areas is planned, such as the areas near the Minčeta department store, part of the Park of the city of Bad Homburg, at the Lapad Post Office - near the intersection of Miljenka Bratoša Street and Kneza Domagoja Street, and elsewhere.
