A year of awards for Dubrovnik tourism
The tourist year 2023 for Dubrovnik was exceptionally successful, marked by a series of international and national awards, including the title of tourism champion. The beginning of the season brought recovery, in line with expectations, especially considering that the preseason in 2022 was almost absent due to events related to the Russian aggression on Ukraine. In collaboration with the city, activities of the "Respect the City" program continued, and this season confirmed that effort and commitment towards achieving a balance between tourist results and preserving the quality of life for citizens are the right path. One of the key success factors was the extended summer flight schedule, with the season extended by a week in November. The active role of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board in campaigns aimed at better filling flights during the preseason and postseason periods was crucial in achieving the set goals.
This year not only achieved planned goals but also represents a strong foundation for further tourism development in Dubrovnik. With an emphasis on the even distribution of arrivals and overnight stays throughout the year, Dubrovnik has laid the groundwork for sustainable tourism, promoting visitor diversity and reducing seasonal dependence.
