New Year's Eve, as well as the entire Advent and holiday season, in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County passed in an exceptionally safe atmosphere, according to the Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Department.
On New Year's Eve, in the area in and around the old city core of Dubrovnik, which also hosted the most numerous organized open-air celebration in the county and beyond, the police and organizers estimated a crowd of about 25,000 people.
In collaboration with the event organizers, namely the City of Dubrovnik, numerous security measures were implemented, involving a significant number of police officers from various units, as well as security personnel hired by the event organizers. These measures aimed to ensure a secure New Year's Eve celebration. In addition to them, the safety of the New Year's night was ensured by numerous members of intervention and emergency services, including emergency personnel, firefighters, and municipal employees.
"With satisfaction, we can state that there were no incidents of public order disturbance or events that would significantly disturb our fellow citizens and guests during the New Year's night. There were no serious criminal offenses or traffic accidents recorded. Although fireworks were used, according to our information, no one was injured by their use," stated the police.
