Robin Hood has arrived in Dubrovnik! The first steps of the filming of Robin Hood: Origins started this morning in Dubrovnik. On the entrance into the historic Old City of Dubrovnik from the east the production crew started constructing the set. Wooden constructions were being placed around the ancient harbour and from the mock-up of the whole set that could be seen today is would seem that there is plenty of more work to do.
The principle director, Otto Bathurst, was on the set today overseeing the start of the upcoming movie that will star two well-known “Jamies” - Jamie Foxx and Jamie Doran.
“This is my fourth or fifth time in Dubrovnik, the city is amazing, it's beautiful and it is an excellent location for filming," said Bathurst who arrived in Croatia with a crew of 60. Full filming is expected to start in Dubrovnik in February.
Various locations around the Old City have been earmarked for filming, including the port, the main street Stradun and the St. Dominic Street. The executive producer of the latest Robin Hood adventure is Leonardo DiCaprio. And according to an inside source the famous actor and director has already visited Dubrovnik and spoken to the city authorities.
