In celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, as well as the holidays of Yom Kippur and Sukkot, Dubrovnik's Mayor Mato Franković has sent greetings to the President of the Jewish Community in Dubrovnik, Sabrina Horović, and all fellow residents of the Jewish faith in the city.
The message reads as follows:
Dear Mrs. Horović,
On behalf of the City of Dubrovnik and personally, I extend my warmest wishes to you, as well as to all Dubrovnik's Jewish women and men, on the occasion of the 5784th Rosh Hashanah and the holidays of Yom Kippur and Sukkot.
This is a time when we can all reflect on our achievements and set goals for the future, as we continue to build a better and more united community together. We are immensely proud that, for centuries, we have fostered mutual respect and collaboration. Let us carry on in the same spirit, making this society inclusive and welcoming for all our citizens, embracing tolerance and diversity.
May Rosh Hashanah bring abundance of peace, joy, and prosperity to all.
Le'shana tova tikatevu – May you be inscribed for a good year!
