After four years, eight months and 20 days, the road connection project with southern Dalmatia has been finally completed. After 1,720 days of construction, on Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., the last part of this project from the Prapratno junction to the Doli junction was opened.

This is the completion of the largest infrastructure project in Croatia after the construction of the highway network, which includes the Peljesac Bridge and a new road across Peljesac with a length of 28.6 kilometres.

"This is the last section of the expressway that connects the land territory of our country and today it is 32.5 kilometres long. A lot has been said about the significance of the new road for this region and our country, so on this occasion I can only state the fact that since the day the bridge was opened, more than one and a half million vehicles have crossed this road, which shows us the justification of the realization of this project. With the construction of the ring road, the last obstacle to the further development of the tourist centre has been removed, and the transfer of traffic from the centre of Ston opens a new perspective,” stated Josip Škorić, the President of Croatia Roads.
