Today, Pelješac became a gastronomic destination as the Mali Ston Oyster Day event was held in Brijesta in the Mali Ston Bay. Oysters, local wine and song brought large crowds to this always popular event. Indeed, the oysters from this region are some of the best in the world. And lovers of this seafood delicacy came in large numbers.

Brijesta proved too small for all those who came to enjoy the seafood specialty. Many left their cars parked two kilometres away. And who can blame them, the oysters at this time of the year are at their very best. In addition to the residents of the county, there were also a lot of people from Split and Šibenik, as well as visitors from neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. People took advantage of the beautiful weather, which was perfect for this special day in Pelješac, so before tasting oysters just taken out of the sea for a euro per piece, they tried their hand at some wild asparagus in the countryside.
