Gale force northerly winds have hammered Dubrovnik this afternoon, with trees uprooted, debris on the roads and the Adriatic Sea whipped into a frenzy. “It looks like the wind is trying to blow the sea back to Italy,” commented one passer-by in Dubrovnik.
The strong winds caught the top of the waves and it appeared that mini-tornadoes were all over the sea.
The wind speed at 4:00 p.m. in Dubrovnik was measured at around 67 km/h or around 42 mph. And the forecast for tomorrow is for windier weather, although sunny, with highs to reach 12 degrees.
