Well, that was a cold and noisy night in Dubrovnik last night as the hail and lightening hammered the city. Temperatures dropped overnight and the predicted storm hit bringing with it bucket loads of pea-sized hail.
A white glow appeared on many of the city’s streets and driving was hazardous. Whilst much of northern Croatia, and indeed a great deal of Dalmatia, awoke to a white covering of snow Dubrovnik managed to avoid the worst of the snow, but got hail instead.
Temperatures at around 12 degrees soon melted the majority of the hail stones, although in places where the sun still hadn’t broken through there was a great deal of the white stuff left. The unsettled weather looks set to continue for at least another seven days with more rain and storms predicted.
