The Prefect of the Dubrovnik–Neretva County, Nikola Dobroslavić, yesterday received the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in the Republic of Croatia, H.J. E. Juan González-Barba.

During the conversation, Gonzalez-Barba expressed his interest in the potentials in the development of the economy of our county, especially agriculture and renewable energy sources. He also pointed out that now, when he has seen for himself the natural beauty of our county, he understands why tourism is our primary activity.

In the light of current events, there was also talk about Croatia's entry into Schengen and the importance of that decision for all residents of the Republic of Croatia.

Mayor Nikola Dobroslavić introduced the ambassador to the rich history and culture of the county, especially Dubrovnik and Ston, and pointed out that this, along with exceptional natural beauty, is the best prerequisite for the development of tourism, which is why it is our main economic branch. He added that the county's main projects are based on transport connections, primarily road, but also the construction of port infrastructure.
