Last night around the historic old plane tree in the centre of Mlini what appears like sinkholes appeared.

A reader sent us these photos late last night of the hole in Mlini. The cobbled pathway has collapsed into the ground and will clearly need work to repair. The oriental plane tree, which is located close to the Adriatic, is believed to have been planted in 1742.

And with the sea to one side and a small river the other side this amount of water could have led to the land fall.
