On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, the City of Dubrovnik will mark the opening of the new Pelješac Bridge and the historical connection of the southern mainland with the rest of the Republic of Croatia. The morning part of the program will be held at the Brijesta rest area, while in the evening an appropriate program is planned on the most beautiful stage, Stradun, with direct monitoring of the opening ceremony of the bridge.
The bridge opening program starts at 8:00 am in Brijesta, with the participation of around 150 performers from Dubrovnik. The program includes performances from several orchestras, bands and vocal groups from the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Dubrovnik Trombunjeri, Zaton Brass Band, KUD Komolac and Dubrovnik Majorettes. At 9:00 a.m., the historic DU Motion race with 250 runners will take place, followed by performances by Dance Studio Lazareti, Dance Studio 3V, Dance and Recreation Studio Dubrovnik and a performance by KUD Osojnik at 10:00 a.m. The organizers are the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and JP Libertas.
On the side of the Brijesta rest area, the bridge will be open from 10:00 a.m. for all citizens and visitors who want to walk on it (to the first pylon).
The evening part of the program for citizens and visitors starts at 19:00 on Stradun, with a live broadcast of the event from the Pelješac Bridge on a video wall. In the production of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, DJ Milo Kravarević and Klapa Subrenum will perform in the musical part of the event, and due to foreign visitors, host Mislav Ćimić will moderate the program in Croatian and English.
The ceremony in Komarna will end with the performance of the "Freedom Anthem" and fireworks, during which the bells of all the churches of the Dubrovnik diocese will ring.
Come to Stradun on Tuesday and be a part of this historic moment of the opening ceremony of the Pelješac Bridge, with the atmosphere provided by guest performers on the most beautiful street.
