One of the hazards of the warmer temperatures in Dubrovnik is the constant threat of forest fires. And this afternoon at 5:00 o’clock a fire broke out above the main coastal road near the suburb of Nuncijata. The Dubrovnik Fire Brigade were quickly on the scene and reported that at 6.35 the fire was under control and extinguished.
18 members of the Dubrovnik Fire Brigade with seven vehicles, and 6 firefighters from Župa with two vehicles attended the scene of the forest fire.
Clearly whilst the fire was being extinguished the traffic built up and there were long traffic jams in both directions.
