The children of the Shakhtar Football Club arrived in Dubrovnik, and then went onto Konavle. At the beginning of the trip to the south of Croatia, they first made a detour to Stradun, and then they went to Cavtat, and finally they have games in Čilipi, reports Dubrovački Vjesnik.
These young Ukrainians left their war-torn homeland three months ago, after help from the former Croatian National player, Darijo Srna, who was also a long-term player at Shakhtar. Others helped, such as the biggest Croatian clubs, Dinamo and Hajduk.
Today, the young football players of Shakhtar are located in Split, in the Hotel Zagreb. They train not only in Split, but every now and then, when possible, they travel to other cities where they play matches against their peers. In Čilipi, the Konavle Football Academy and the GOŠK Dubrovnik 1919 Football Club were waiting for them.
