The Church of St James and the Benedictine Abbey of Višnjica in Dubrovnik is celebrating its 800th anniversary this year.
A solemn celebration will be on the feast of St. Philip and James on Tuesday, May 3, with a Mass at 6:00 pm, led by the Bishop of Dubrovnik, Msgr. Roko Glasnović.
On Monday, May 2, at 6:00 pm, the Mass will be led by Fr. Jozo Milanović, a Benedictine from the island of Pašman. After the Mass, art historian Ivan Viđen will give a lecture on the historical importance of the church of St. James.
