The third day of this year’s Good Food Festival was a day of innovation and creative cuisine. In the Amfora Restaurant an interesting workshop of creating meals using only raw foods was presented by Mihaela Devescovi. Raw recipes proved an absolute hit as members of the public squeezed into the restaurant all waiting to see and more importantly taste the dishes.
The workshop opened with Devescovi, who is the author of two best-selling books on raw food, preparing a warm pumpkin and carrot soup with caramelised onions and almond milk. “Raw food isn’t all about smoothies and salads,” explained Devescovi. And went on to explain and create fascinating dishes using only raw ingredients.
The members of the audience had plenty of questions for this Zagreb based chef, and she was more than willing to answer them. Devescovi also explained that eight years ago she decided to change her life, and her eating habits, and explored the varied possibilities of raw food. Her hobby turned into a business and now apart from writing and presenting she also has a popular website on the preparation of raw food. Another interesting event in this year’s Good Food Festival 2016.
