As tourists look for more rural destinations Peljesac records 85 percent of 2019 figures

According to data from the municipal tourist boards in Orebic, Ston, Trpanj and Janjina, 435 guests stayed on Peljesac in December and 3,100 overnight stays were recorded, which is 64 percent more in tourist arrivals and 4 percent more in overnight stays than in December 2020, and 18 percent more than in that month of 2019.

Most visitors in December were from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and Poland, and most of them stayed in their holiday homes and cottages, and to a lesser extent in private accommodation.

A total of 147,000 guests stayed on Peljesac last year and 1,378,000 overnight stays were recorded, which is 85 percent of the traffic in 2019.

Last year, tourists stayed on holiday on the Pelješac peninsular for an average of nine days. On the other hand the average stay of tourists in the Dubrovnik area is around 2.7 days.
