The works on the Pelješac Bridge will be completed by the end of January, and access roads are progressing well, so it will be possible to drive over the bridge during this year's tourist season, Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, said on Monday after visiting the works on the Pelješac Bridge.
The works on the bridge itself have reached the last ten days, and the full workload of the bridge is planned for the end of this month, followed by technical inspections, said Plenković.
"According to the announcement, the actual construction of the Pelješac Bridge will be completed by the end of January 2022," said Plenković.
He added that the second and third phases are "progressing well" - the construction of access roads on which the Austrian Strabag and the Greek Avax are working, as well as the fourth phase, near Ston.
According to him, it is expected that the second and third phases "will be completed in May and June", while "the finalization of the fourth phase would follow during the beginning of autumn".
"This means that traffic will be across the Pelješac Bridge this tourist season, and that means without crossing borders and crowds in Neum," said Plenković.
