Traditionally, on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, the Administrative Department for Health, Family and Veterans of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County organized a meeting of representatives of institutions and associations caring for people with disabilities and children with disabilities from across the county.
This year's meeting was an opportunity to present the "Guide for Persons with Disabilities through the Dubrovnik-Neretva County" as a kind of database of collected data that will be further developed, corrected and adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities as its end users.
On behalf of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the gathered were greeted by the County Adviser Žaklina Marević, and the printed and electronic edition of the Guide was presented by the Deputy Head of the County Administrative Department for Health, Family and Veterans Nina Skurić. The interactive gathering at the Hotel Lero was also an opportunity to find out the specific problems of the members of the associations, and the authorities immediately had the opportunity to give answers to some of them.
Representatives of the Centre for Social Welfare spoke about the rights of people with disabilities in the social welfare system, and representatives of the Regional Development Agency DUNEA gave a lecture on "Promoting equal opportunities through EU funds."
